Abbie Middleton

Teen Coach and Personal Trainer

Hi I'm Abbie, I’ve been doing all things sporty since I could walk, competing for Scunthorpe’s athletics team as well as being on every sports team possible at school. I actually ended up winning sports personality of the year in 2018 and 2020.

When discharged from the army my love for sport continued, especially running. being diagnosed with ulcerative colitis fuelled my passion for running and I have now competed in every distance possible from 5k to marathons. I now run for the stags in Selby for the district competing in a range of leagues through the year.

I’ve struggled massively in the past with body dysmorphia and exercise addictions, especially after being diagnosed with a bowel disease. however I believe that things like this are what shaped me as a person. I see exercise as just something I enjoy doing and a stress relief, and decide to embrace my disability instead of beating myself down for it.

I’ve been a soldier, jockey, and a personal trainer, but have held my personal training qualification since being in the military, I’m extremely happy and excited to join the team at New Beginnings.
