Neuro STRONG 🧠💪

Strength, Structure, and Support for Neurodivergent Young People

Neuro STRONG is a 12-month, fully funded, prevention-focused programme for neurodivergent young people aged 11–17 in Scunthorpe. The programme is designed to support young people with autism, ADHD, ADD, SEMH needs, sensory processing differences, and other neurodivergent profiles who may struggle to access mainstream sport or youth provision.

Through structured physical activity, routine, emotional regulation, and mentoring, Neuro STRONG helps young people build confidence, physical strength, self-regulation skills, and a sense of belonging in a calm, predictable, and supportive environment.

Cost: Fully funded (free to attend)

About Neuro STRONG

Neuro STRONG recognises that neurodivergent young people often face additional barriers, including anxiety, sensory overload, low confidence, social isolation, school exclusion, or behavioural misunderstandings.

This programme uses movement as a tool for regulation, combining gym-based training with clear routines, consistent coaching, and individualised support. Sessions are adapted to meet a wide range of needs while maintaining structure and clear expectations.

Neuro STRONG is suitable for young people who may:

Feel overwhelmed or anxious in busy environments

Struggle with emotional regulation or impulse control

Find team sports challenging

Need routine, predictability, and clear boundaries

Benefit from smaller group sizes and tailored coaching

Programme Structure & Weekly Sessions

Neuro STRONG runs weekly in small, supported groups to ensure young people feel safe, understood, and able to engage.

Each session typically includes:

Clear arrival routine and expectations

Warm-up and movement preparation

Strength and conditioning using age-appropriate equipment

Functional exercises and simple circuits

Regulation-focused activities (breathing, grounding, cool-down)

Optional reflection and positive reinforcement

Sessions prioritise calm, consistency, and choice, allowing young people to engage at their own pace.
